The man named Tim Tebow

T

As usual, I wasted  my time watching a TV  show last week. This show is quite different though,(I think it premiered last year) the way it goes is that they get 2 celebrities to compete for who can lip-sync better, the celebrities get to pick any song of their choice and the winner goes home with a golden belt.
On this episode I got to meet someone great and I would like to share with you.

His name is Tim Tebow. Honestly, I  don’t like watching the episodes of this show that feature celebrities I don’t know or like.  For this particular episode, I had read the TV guide beforehand and I almost didn’t watch it because I really don’t care about an NFL sports guy(I googled his name) coming to lip-sync to a song in which he  probably was going to suck at, but I watched it anyway because of the other competitor – Nina Dobrev, a very beautiful and talented actress.

Nina went first and I think she lip-synced to a song that was kinda sexual or so. Then came Tim Tebow,  but before Tim Tebow lip-synced his own song, Tim/the host mentioned something about his virginity pact and how he has a strong belief in waiting before marriage.  I obviously laughed at the comment because I seriously thought it was a joke.

And then he started lip-syncing a song that had the message “wait”. Immediately he was done I went straight to Google to find out who in 2016 still takes celibacy seriously and behold it wasn’t a joke. Tim Tebow is a successful NFL player that is not physically disabled, has a successful career, is “buff”, has money, is not ugly and still practices celibacy. Please don’t get me wrong, there are a lot more people in the world that practice celibacy but there are a few lessons to learn from Great Tim Tebow.

2Cor. 10:4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)-KJV

It’s funny how we set boundaries and limit  ourselves with the mindset that it’s just impossible to do what God wants us to do on this earthly realm, it may or may not be celibacy for  everyone, but God is calling us to live a life that glorifies him and we need to know that we can’t achieve that without a mindset that is based on using the power of the Lord and not our own strength to combat these worldly opinions and notions that say you cannot do what God wants you to do.

Philp. 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Yes! You can do ALL things! why? Because God says so! From the description above of Tim who, by the way,  has the perfect “being a male hoe starter pack” , it’s interesting to note that he still kept the celibacy rule with his last girlfriend, Miss USA 2012, and rumor has it that they split because of the celibacy thing. Although that’s not our focus for now, we must still learn that we may lose relationships because of our commitment to living the life God wants us to live, but we must brace ourselves with the fact that God is watching and he will definitely bring the best to us in time.
Do not  let the world determine the extent  of your obedience to the word of God, soak yourself in the word of God and resist the devil.

Ps: He won Nina in the lip-sync battle and took home the Golden Belt!
