Yard sticks and weight goals

Y

It’s so nice that this is my blog and I can say whatever I want.

New fact(maybe alternative fact): Yard sticks are one of the many reasons why Fat people are still fat.

Let me tell you why

Ohhh, I’m 20, I’m not fat, I’m just big for my age“, “But you’re fatter than me though“, “Considering my peers, I’m actually thin. Have you seen Ola, Goke and Abraham ? So what are you saying? “, “300 pounds is the new 150 pounds, don’t you watch TLC?” words of a truly fat person 🙄

Well, in all fairness, Yard sticks sort of keep us in check when we’re tending towards anorexia in our weight loss journey and we wouldn’t know we’ve reached our weight goal if we never set one. But the real question is “how do we set the perfect yard stick and weight goal?”

Do we get them from our friends? Do we get them from people that surround us? Do we get them from family? Do we get them from the healthy person in church? Do we get them from our superstar crush? Or do we just get them based on our feelings on that particular day? Making a decision on this shouldn’t be taken lightly, because Mediocrity creeps around most of those options, if not all.

Hebrews 12: 1&2 puts it so perfectly.

Heb 12:1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Heb 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

So you know who should be your standard for Godly living now? JESUS! Yup! That’s the standard! That’s the Yard stick! That’s the goal. Every other thing is mediocrity wrapped in a flashy pack.

Make Jesus your yard stick today, it may look impossible in the beginning but with the Word, the Holy Spirit, Prayer and fasting(Mark 9:29 & 1 cor 7:5) you will achieve the goal.
