Weighing weights

W

The word of God encourages us to strip off weights in Heb 12: 1, and while we all agree we need to strip off weights to focus on our journey with christ, we most times aren’t able to.

If there is something wrong we do, it’s weighing the weights. We look back at them and stare as we drop them. But the Bible says, “We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus” Heb 12: 2a. So when stripping off weights, you don’t look back at them and think, you look unto Jesus, the one calling you to greatness. When we look at the weights we’re dropping, our mind calculates, our mind processes, and when we give our mind room to calculate the things of the flesh, it will definitely add up to us picking up the weights.

God is calling us to identify the weight and drop it without looking back, without thinking twice.

People  are still battling with weights not because they don’t want to, but subconsciously and even consciously, they have convinced themselves that they need those weights to function – they need those weights to be balanced in life.

To convince is to cause (someone) to believe firmly in the truth of something.  A lot of people have allowed the devil create false truths for them, which they carry on to their everyday lives in total bondage.

If you need any truth to believe in today, Believe that you’re better off without those weights and God has a better place for you without those weights, and you need to run to it without looking back!(Gen 19:17) Yes, it would look like a lot is left behind and you may not survive without it, but the Lord is saying “Drop it, I will see you through” Gen 12:1-8.

Two things you need to do after stripping of the weights; Don’t look back and follow God blindly. You’re guaranteed to be stuck if you keep looking back like lot’s wife, when she looked back at all she presumably lost in the fire(Gen 19:16), not knowing that if she focused on the destination God was taking her to, she could’ve gained a lot more.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you focus on Jesus, you cannot do it by your strength Eph 3:16.

I believe this is a part of a very long series I’ll be writing, stay blessed!
