He has fallen off the way alot,when i say alot i mean alot ,its probably more than david did if you asked him,he was tired ,he couldn’t take it anymore,why could i keep falling like this?,i’ve given my life to christ too many times, i can speak in tongues and i believe by faith that i have the holy spirit but why me? Why cant my christian life be stable he pondered and wondered all day and night while he continued in sin,hoping and praying that he would change.
So one morning he cried and begged and asked Jesus “Why is it that i cannot resist the Temptation whenever it comes?” And Jesus being the Word called him close hugged him and said my brother its so good you asked me because i also told the people about this same issue in Mat 7:18-23.
Mar 7:18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
Mar 7:19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
Mar 7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Mar 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
Mar 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
He said to Jesus i’ve read this over and over again and i’m still the same ,no change no deliverance,and Jesus said to him “Have you seen Lasciviousness?” Have you ever confronted him before? he is the reason why you are fighting a finished war,a war you have already Lost.
Its not the sinful act but its preliminary to it,you say it doesn’t matter but its the most important step not to miss. Since its not the main act its hard to detect because it takes as many forms as you let available.But the actual description is “No Restraint”, it seems so meaningless but if its got you,it would take only divine intervention to set you free.LASCIVIOUSNESS!!.
Jesus lists it among the works of the flesh,The Devil knows he cant get you to commit the sinful act immediately so he sends lasciviousness, he sends him to apply worldly pressures on every side ,one at a time all that you let go of your restraint slowly and when he is done you are definitely going to fall easily.
He learnt from Jesus that day that if he wanted to keep of from every besetting sin and walk weightless like
Heb 12:1 all he had to do was make 1 thess 5:22
1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
his watch word and not let the devil make him think that this sin he is doing is too small or doesnt matter.
And Lastly know that Lasciviousness takes many forms for many sins respectively ,if you want to be totally free sin besetting sins,identify his forms in your life and cut links to them by the Grace of Jesus and your life will be a Heb 12:1 testimony.in Jesus Name .Amen.
