Denial Period

D

Yes, how long is yours?

How long is your denial period?

At this point, I guess you’re a bit confused and wondering what a “denial period” is. ‘A denial period is the period in which you doubt and argue a conviction the Holy Spirit laid in your heart; it’s during this period we doubt the voice of God and doubt if God actually understands our “physical” situation. We also ask questions like ‘is the message truly for me?’

I guess we can say a majority of people have it, for some it’s very negligible while for others it’s quite significant. Many a times, God tells us something we should do, change or work on, but we take our time fighting and combating the word – like that will ever change anything (PS: it never does).

We choose to spend valuable time in denial of it, sometimes we even strategically ask the people that will give us counter intuitive advice all so we can be “stupid” in peace.

The bible teaches us about how Jonah argued with the leading of God until he was swallowed by a fish, and until he came out of denial and decided to do what the Lord instructed, he was an imprisoned man. We put ourselves in prisons mentally and emotionally most times when we choose to be in denial of God’s word and until we accept it and work in it we won’t be free.

Jer 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

And this is the truth. God always has our best interest at heart so anytime he asks us to do, change or work on something, it’s for our good. It may not feel nice or be what we planned but we must always trust God’s word and accept it, wholeheartedly.

We must learn to instantly harken to the word of God and act as directed like our saviour Jesus.
